About

Hi, I’m Widelia.

I’ve spent the past decade building brands, launching businesses and helping consumer companies grow across Asia.

But what has always fascinated me isn’t only how brands grow. It’s why some brands matter.

Why some become part of culture.

Why certain experiences stay with us.

Why ideas spread.

I’ve worked across fashion, beauty, retail, marketplaces and experiential projects — building businesses from the ground up, entering new markets and working alongside brands at different stages of growth.

Along the way, I realised the most interesting brands tend to sit at the intersection of product, culture and commerce.

Brand Culture Club is where I explore that intersection — through writing, collaborations and building.

What I keep coming back to

Brands are more than products.

The brands we remember make us feel something. They shape taste, create communities and sometimes become part of how we see ourselves.

Culture can’t be manufactured.

You can engineer reach, distribution and conversion. But becoming culturally relevant requires something harder to quantify: understanding people, timing and why an idea deserves attention.

Great ideas still need to work commercially.

I believe creativity and commerce should strengthen each other. The most interesting businesses are able to create something distinctive while building the systems that allow it to grow.

And I’m still curious.

About why people choose what they choose. Why certain ideas travel across markets. Why some experiences stay with us. And what the next generation of consumer brands might look like.

Whole9Yards

Singapore-headquartered womenswear brand with global retail and wholesale distribution.

0 → 1 / Founder

Founded and built an independent womenswear brand from Singapore, taking it from initial concept and product development through manufacturing, brand building, retail and international distribution.

Whole9Yards grew to two physical stores in Singapore and 80+ wholesale accounts across 18 countries. The brand also presented collections through fashion shows in Paris, Shanghai, Singapore and Perth.

Raena

Beauty social-commerce platform connecting brands and sellers across Indonesia.

1 → 10 / Operator

Joined Raena as the first management hire alongside the two co-founders, helping scale the business from a 15-person startup to a 130+ person organisation and build the commercial engine behind Indonesia’s largest beauty social-commerce platform.

Led across marketplaces, brand partnerships and distribution, working with local and international beauty brands across Indonesia. The experience gave me a deep understanding of what it takes to scale consumer businesses in Southeast Asia — from local market dynamics and distribution to building teams and performance-driven commerce.
